Recommended production/apps to keep your PC secure
I was at work yesterday and trying to remember the applications I have running on my PC that I wanted to recommend to a co-worker, I couldn’t. So, I’m going to list them out here for reference and to help any others who might be interested.
For virus protection I recommend McAfee SecurityCenter ($59.99 yr)
It includes
- Virus Scan
- Firewall protection
- SiteAdvisor
- SpamKiller
- Privacy Service
- WiFi network security
- EasyNetworking
- Data Backup
Additionally, for spyware I recommend Webroot Spy Sweeper ($29.95 yr)
For additional security I highly recommend to run Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal (free) monthly
And lastly, to clean up your system registry from junk. And keep your Windows start-up programs clean I recommend Ace Utilities ($29.95 yr)
With this combination I believe you will find your computer very secure. It’s an investment worth making to save your personal files and save you from the headache of fixing all the problems associated with Adware, spyware, and virus’.
